A music playlist for book lovers

1-Hour Playlist for Book Lovers

Sometimes, I like listening to music when I read a book – but it has to be the right kind of music. Nothing too distracting (no vocals please), with a hint of mystery and class.

I’ve curated a list of 12 songs which, when played all together, last 60 minutes. If you start this playlist at the beginning of your reading session and don’t stop until it’s finished, you’ll have a nice little reading timer to help you build an hour-a-day habit with your books!

Here’s the list of songs:

  1. Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 2 in D Minor – Johann Sebastian Bach (Performed by Yo-Yo Ma)
  2. The Seasons, Op. 37a: June (Barcarolle) – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Performed by Vladimir Ashkenazy)
  3. So What – Miles Davis
  4. Feelings – Joe Pass
  5. Days of Wine and Roses – Wes Montgomery
  6. Midway – Tony Anderson
  7. Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2 – Frédéric Chopin
  8. Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major – Johann Sebastian Bach (Performed by Yo-Yo Ma)
  9. The Winter of My Discontent – Peter Leitch Quintet
  10. Someone to Watch Over Me – George Gershwin (Performed by Keith Jarrett)
  11. Canon in D – Johann Pachelbel
  12. Always on My Mind – Jeremy Pelt

I hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I do. It calms me down, keeps me focused, and fits in perfectly with a rainy day and a good book.

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
