Could I survive my morning reading sessions without coffee? I suppose—if there were a zombie apocalypse and I had to choose between great books and my coffee beans, I’d pick the books. But as far as I can tell, zombies aren’t knocking on my door, and today looks like another perfectly normal day in the life of Eddy Hood.
Which means I get to enjoy both great books and tasty coffee. Huzzah! But experience has taught me that not all books are worth reading, and not all coffee is worth drinking. A little care is required if we want to sip and read well.
So, this one’s for the book-and-coffee lovers out there. What are you reading, and how do you take your coffee in the morning?
As for me, if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll make a latte. But most mornings, I keep it simple: a solid pour-over. I heat the water to 205 degrees, pour it over coarsely ground fresh beans, and add a splash of oat milk. Works every time.
Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
