Have Books Ruined Me? Let’s Find Out.

Some of my family and friends will say that books ruined me. My wife and I left the Mormon church with our four kids in tow last September. For years, I was told never to read religious materials unless they came straight from the church. Luckily, I have a wife with a PhD who took several classes in philosophy and is willing to learn outside the box. She is one of my heroes. Together, we began asking questions and reading everything we could get our hands on.

We were shocked at what we found.

We were living inside a bubble, unaware of how the church was manipulating us. If you’re interested in my story, I’ve just published an essay titled, A Blue Shirt in a Mormon Church which talks about my experience in the church and how brainwashing is still very much alive in modern society.

This is why I started The Read Well Podcast. I want to teach people to read well because in doing so, you might just learn something that could save your life.

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
