Your Input Needed: Edgewater Bookstore’s New Coffee and Tea Line

I’m thrilled to share that I’m in discussions with a world-class roastery to create exclusive coffee and tea blends for Edgewater Bookstore! As we gear up for our grand opening, one of our standout offerings will be a beautifully designed, environmentally friendly line of coffee and tea.

Here’s what I’m envisioning for our initial mix. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments so I can fine-tune these blends:

  • Origins: Central America, Indonesia, and Africa
  • Profile: Rich, full-bodied, and well-rounded
  • Roast Level: 3/5
  • Tasting Notes: Chocolate, caramel, lemon

Espresso Blend

  • Profile: Strong and full-bodied, perfect for espresso machines and pour-overs
  • Roast Level: 3/5
  • Tasting Notes: Nutty, caramel, chocolate

Single-Origin Light Roast

  • Region: Ethiopia

  • Roast Level: 1/5
  • Process: Fully natural, sun-dried on raised beds
  • Tasting Notes: Blueberry, black cherry, strawberry, anise

Single-Origin Light to Medium Roast

  • Region: Mexico
  • Details: From small farms in the Oaxacan coffee-growing region, intercropped with various local produce.
  • Roast Level: 2/5
  • Process: Fully washed and sun-dried
  • Tasting Notes: Mango, orange, lime with dense sweetness

TEA:

Earl Grey Organic (Black Tea)

  • Description: An organic black tea blend scented with oil of bergamot, derived from lemon rind.

Chinese Gunpowder Organic (Green Tea)

  • Description: Each leaf is delicately hand-rolled and “explodes” as it infuses, leaving a distinct yet subtle green tea flavor.

House Blend (Herbal Tea)

  • Description: A mild, spicy, fruity blend with hints of tangerine, lemongrass, and mint. Very flavorful.

These blends are subject to change as I have several cupping events planned to find the best options. For now, I’d love your feedback to help refine these selections!

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
