I’m in love with John Kaag’s writing. I found his book, Hiking with Nietzsche in a local bookstore and couldn’t put it down. Kaag teaches philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is the author of several books. He takes you through a memoir of his experience hiking the Swiss Alps to better understand the philosopher, Nietzsche. Through the ordeal, he presents some of Nietzsche’s more complicated ideas like the Revaluation of Values, Eternal Recurrence, and the Übermensch without drowning you in impossible jargon. This book is a fantastic introduction, not only to Nietzsche’s work but to philosophy in general. I highly recommend it.
