One thing I am learning is to slow down in my reading. I catch myself still racing through sections that I really do like and want to savor. This is an ongoing reminder that breaking old habits is amazingly difficult. I’m starting on my fourth book and have learned some important lessons from the first three: The Let Them Theory, The Spirit of Hope, and Nothing to Fear. I’ve begun to read an e book version of a book Eddy recommended, Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World DEEP WORK, by Cal Newport. Kindle does allow highlighting in different colors and making notes any place in the text. The highlights and notes are preserved so the reader can go back to the material at any time. The Kindle app pairs well with Goodreads where I can keep a record of all the books I’ve read whether I read them on kindle or not. Of course maintaining your Prime Membership allows for free reading some books, so that’s another benefit. I haven’t started rating my books yet, perhaps I’ll try that this fall.
