LeVar Burton and Eddy Hood

🌈Take a Look…It’s in a Book…Reading Rainbow!

Reading Rainbow was my favorite show as a kid. The host, LeVar Burton taught me to love books as he traveled the world, reading stories while teaching the importance of being a good human being. It was a PBS show that ran from 1983 to 2006, and when it was on, I stopped everything to watch.

Yesterday, I got to meet LeVar Burton and get a picture with him. I go to fanX every year with my kids, but I’ve never done a photo op. When I saw that LeVar Burton was one of the celebrities, I had to do it!

I got to thank him for all his work, and yes, he loved my “Read Banned Books” shirt. If you want to watch Reading Rainbow in action, check out their YouTube channel.

Also, for those who want to feel nostalgic, here’s the theme song.

This makes me tear up every time I hear it.

Thank you, LeVar. You’re making a difference.

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
