Before a Busy Week Starts

If you’re retired, you can skip today’s message. For the rest of us, read on.

It’s Monday. Love it or leave it, today is the start of a new work week. It’s easy to feel “too busy” for the things we love, especially reading. When the boss is knocking with deadlines and customer complaints, the idea of opening your beautiful book seems like a long-lost indulgence. And that’s exactly why you should find time to read, despite the madness. Our books put us in better moods, keep our minds sharp, and help us offload stress.

I know you have a busy schedule and your bills must get paid, but take a moment to consider that this is your only life, and by carving out some time to read your book today, you’re drawing a line in the sand. You’re telling the world that you have a say in how this day will turn out.

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
