When you sit down to read your book today, start by deciding to read well. Hold the book in your hands, consider why you chose to read this specific work, and what you hope to gain from it. Then, make the decision that you will read well. Turn off your phone and turn on your interest. Even if you can only read for 10 minutes today, give yourself fully to the book. Pay attention to each word. Highlight your favorite parts, or, even better, make a quick note about them. When you’re done, close the cover and end, once again, holding the book. Look at the cover and consider what you’ve gained from your time reading. What do you feel? How have you changed? What will you do with your new knowledge?
Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
