There’s never enough time to read. That’s the point. Reading is an activity of expansion. It adds to your life and makes it better, rather than something that must be done to avoid pain.
It falls in the category of “should” tasks.
I should go to the gym.
I should call my mother.
I should read a book.
We intend to do things that are good for us, but we often put those things on the back burner.
How’s that strategy working out for you? I’m not judging. I have a lot of “shoulds” as well. The point of today’s post is to remind myself that the “shoulds” are worth doing.

Also, I’m excited to announce 📚 What’s New This December at Edgewater Bookstore! ☕
I’ve added Uncle Tom’s Cabin to the store—a novel that changed the course of history and continues to spark important conversations. To make the experience even better, I’ve put together a custom notebook with guided prompts and plenty of space for your thoughts. I’ve also recorded a video lecture to dive deeper into the themes and impact of this incredible book.
For my fellow coffee and tea lovers, this month’s flavors are perfect for the season:
- Coffee: Sumatra Organic – Bold and earthy with hints of dark chocolate and spice.
- Tea: Holiday Spice – A cozy black tea with orange and cinnamon, perfect for cold evenings.
This feels like the perfect way to close out the year—good books, warm drinks, and deep reading. Enjoy!

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
