A man reading a book in an arm chair

When the Reading Mood Strikes

Reading is my favorite way to spend the day, but I have a limit. After so many pages, my brain turns to mush, and I have to go for a walk, listen to music, and make a cup of coffee. Then again, there are days when the reading mood strikes, and I can sit in a chair for eight hours with nothing but Doordash to bring me lunch.

Today, the mood has struck.

I don’t have the luxury of taking work off and ignoring my responsibilities, but I can keep that book with me, and when a few moments pop up, I can dig in. I’m reading an essay by Henry David Thoreau titled Walking for my book club. I’m also reading Cal Newport’s new book, Slow Productivity.

What are you reading?

Until tomorrow, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
