Yasmine Mohammed is Visiting the Read Well Podcast

When I launched The Read Well Podcast, my goal was to inspire people to open books, think critically, and apply what they learn. I never imagined I’d have the opportunity to interview thought-leaders like Yasmine Mohammed, one of my heroes. I feel incredibly honored to speak with her.

Yasmine is the author of Unveiled: How Western Liberals Empower Radical Islam. Her story, growing up in a fundamentalist Islamic home, opened my eyes and is a powerful example of why we read: to get educated. She holds nothing back, and in doing so, puts herself in constant danger.

The interview will take place near the end of June, and the episode will be edited and published within the following week. Here’s a preview of what we’ll discuss:

  1. Reliable Information: How can we obtain accurate information about the gender apartheid situation and the Islamic state?
  2. Recommended Resources: What books, speakers, or other resources do you recommend for learning about these issues?
  3. Media Manipulation: How are groups like Hamas manipulating the news?
  4. Western Media: How are Western democracies getting the news wrong?
  5. Consequences of Ignorance: What are the consequences of staying uneducated on these issues for Islamic women and the Western world?
  6. Campus Protests: Why did the Palestinian protests occur on college campuses?
  7. Western Liberalism: How are Western liberals making the problem worse?
  8. Taking Action: What is one thing the average person can do to help fight against this problem?

I invite you to leave a comment with your questions for Yasmine Mohammed. If they’re relevant to the conversation (such as how we as readers can find and learn from trusted sources regarding critical issues like gender apartheid), I’ll do my best to include them.

As always, read slowly, take notes, and apply the ideas.
