Walden and Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau

Walden and Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau

This week, I traveled over 2,000 miles for a work conference, but I managed to steal a day for myself. I rented a car, drove north, and found my way to Walden Pond—the very place where Henry David Thoreau wrote Walden and Civil Disobedience.

These works have been foundational in shaping my life, which is why visiting Walden felt more like a pilgrimage than a detour.

Think about the three most important books in your life. Imagine standing in the places that inspired them.

  • Like Emily Dickinson’s poetry? Visit Amherst.
  • Are you a Nietzsche Reader? Book a flight to Sils Maria.
  • Fascinated by Sigmund Freud? You’re going to Austria.

What if you booked that ticket today?

Until next time, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.
