I went through my list of books to be read that I keep on Goodreads. I was able to eliminate over 20. I also need to go through my list of books recommended to me by others before this 30 Day Challenge ends. It is helpful to remember that I can’t read all the books that sound interesting. Making certain books a priority does contribute to being a person who reads well. I definitely need to go through my large bookshelves and prune old academic books. I am keeping some books out of sentiment, some out of the possibility I might regret getting rid of them. I think partly I just like having a filled book shelf. So, it’s novel for me to ask why I am keeping a book. Some of my answers would be because; I like the idea of having read it; I like the author’s other books; a dear friend gave it to me; my mother liked it; my father liked it;it had been signed by the author…… and that list can go on and on. I am concluding that I will always keep some books that I may never read again just because I want them.
